The Time I Got Eyelash Extensions and My Face Exploded

I feel like this past week’s shenanigans deserve a recap. Everything was completely derailed when I had an awful reaction to a new set of lash extensions. I had gotten extensions in the past, and was in fact getting them regularly for about 6 months. I stopped when I had a bit of eye irritation after a fill, and the tech immediately blamed me for the problem. I had those removed and opted to take a break for a couple months. This is what happened when I finally decided to get a new set again. Continue Reading ›

Case of the February UGHS

I was catching up with my Mum last week and she mentioned, “it feels like February just showed up out of nowhere and punched me in the face.” I laughed, firstly because my Mum always winds up with a case with the February blahs – she lives in Toronto and this time of year is notoriously cold, grey, and generally tough on everyone. I totally empathized; when I lived in southern Ontario I always went through the same thing. I also laughed because I related SO MUCH to her sentiment. This month has really been kicking my butt. Anxiety Hacks: Weighted Blankets

I don’t know if everyone else has seen this, but I had been hearing a lot of buzz around weighted blankets lately. Traditionally, weighted blankets and weighted lap pads are used with children. Though the odd routine vacation is certainly more than OK, the trick is making sure your weekend off doesn’t stretch too far beyond the weekend! Feeling the effects of that last bucket of mini donuts? Here are some tips to help you get back on track.

Oh! Hey there! Haven’t seen some of you lovely people in a while!

The past two weeks since Vernon have been insane. Getting caught up at work, with everything else in life that I’ve been avoiding for the past couple weeks, and not to mention getting a little run down and sick this past weekend. Keep up with your sleep y’all. I’m telling ya. My whining about my busyness aside, there’s lots of cool stuff lined up for June that I’m stoked to share with you guys. But more on that later, first, let’s get back on that meal prep train!

A Note on Training Partners

I have such a bad habit of writing massive essays, so I’ll try to make this a bit more concise 😛

I used to, well ok I still do, complain about how no one who works up at the plant really lifts/ trains the same way I do. I have such awesome people to train with when I’m in town, but that’s only 2-3 days/ week tops since I’m at the plant for 4. I used it a lot as an excuse to skip training days and generally have my own pity party
